General Information
The Stonewall Regatta Organizing Committee and the DC Strokes Rowing Club invite rowers to compete at the Stonewall XV Regatta.
Stonewall is the only glbt-sponsored regatta in the United States. The event helps kick off the mid-Atlantic adult sprint racing season and serves to connect groups from different backgrounds and different geographic regions. Teams enter from private clubs, the armed forces, and other glbt crews (from cities like Boston, Chicago and Toronto). Last year’s regatta drew 350 rowers from 22 clubs to compete in 55 events.
The course, set on the Anacostia River, starts just below the Pennsylvania Avenue (Sousa) Bridge and finishes downriver between the double I-295 bridges.
Launch/recover: Anacostia Community Boathouse
First race at 0900h. and last race at 1600h.
Course: 1,000 meter finals-only masters sprint race
Boat entries: 1x, 2x, 4x, 4+, and 8+
Category entries for novice, masters, and open
USRowing masters categories: AA - J
Entry Information
Register online at Regatta Central. Deadline is 24 May 2008.
Notes on registration: the system is designed to submit entries for a given boat through a club or a coach unless you plan to row in a single. For rowers coming from overseas who would like to enter an entire boat, your boat captain should create an account with Regatta Central and register your names. Online payments will be charged in US dollars but crews can also submit payment by check or cash directly. For any individual rowers who would like to race in a boat, you don’t need to register with Regatta Central. The boat captain or the coach will register your name. To find a seat in a boat, list yourself in the GLRF Seat Search service.
